Oriens Capital donates to Te Aranui Youth Trust

In 2021, Oriens Capital established a corporate giving scheme through the Acorn Foundation making donations every six months to charities chosen by the team that benefit the local community.

In December 2023, Oriens Capital made a donation to Te Aranui Youth Trust, a Tauranga based organisation which works in conjunction with the NZ Police and Ministry of Education to provide a number of interventions for vulnerable youth between the ages of 7 to 14 in the Western Bay of Plenty. The Trust believes that with early intervention, they can make a real positive impact on the lives of kids, so they can live their best lives.

The Trust runs a variety of programs including holiday programs, breakfast clubs, one-on-one mentoring and in-school ‘life skills’ programs. It also supports the Police Youth Development Team, providing interventions identified by Police staff that support youth and their families.

The team at Te Aranui Youth Trust are grateful for Oriens Capital’s support, emphasising the start of the school year can be a challenging time for many local families.

“We would like to thank Oriens Capital for their very kind donation.  Donations like this one, particularly at this time of year, make such a difference to Te Aranui Youth Trust and the rangatahi that we work with.  This money will allow us to support our rangatahi in the new year with school uniforms, stationery and shoes to ensure that they are day one ready for the school year.  Thank you for your support which allows us to support the most vulnerable in our community.  Ngā mihi nui.”
