In December 2025, Cloudland completed the acquisition of CommArc Consulting Limited (“CommArc”), an IT and cloud services provider headquartered in Christchurch.
The acquisition expands Cloudland’s specialist capability in security, compliance, and high-availability IT, particularly for professional services firms.
As part of the transaction, CommArc’s Managing Director, David de Cuevas, has invested in Cloudland and joined its Board. “Cloudland has the scale to invest in people, platforms, and security, without losing the service culture that professional services clients expect. That alignment made this an easy decision,” said David, who brings strong experience in building and scaling specialist services businesses.
CommArc represents Cloudland’s fourth acquisition in recent years and its third since Oriens Capital invested in December 2023, becoming Cloudland’s majority shareholder. Cloudland’s previous transactions include the acquisition of health and not-for-profit sector specialist Platform Plus in 2022, the merger with healthcare specialist TMG in 2023, and the acquisition of Primary IT in 2024.
While remaining headquartered in Hamilton, Cloudland now operates offices in Whangārei, Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Queenstown, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
