As part of our commitment to the community Oriens has now established a corporate giving scheme which will see donations made to charities in the local community which the team feels will make a real difference.
Every six months the full Oriens team we will meet and based on advice from the Acorn Foundation we will donate to an organisation which Acorn has identified as being able to benefit from our support. Acorn is well connected and with their guidance Oriens can regularly help to make a difference.
We have a strong philosophy of giving back to the community. Oriens Partner James Beale is the Chair of the Investment Committee for Acorn and sits on the Investment Committee for New Zealand Cricket. Peter Tinholt has been a Trustee of the Acorn Foundation for the last 7 years and sits on the Board of Priority1. David Bell sits on the Investment Committee for Bay Trust and is a Trustee of the New Zealand Football Foundation.
Establishing the corporate giving scheme is another way of being able to give back.
The first donation has been made to the Salvation Army.
